We love the new laptops and hybrids (a laptop that folds like a tablet? Yes, please!) that are now available, and if you’re in the market for a new laptop, now is the perfect time to get one. Check out these seven awesome laptop discounts for teachers.
(Just a heads up, WeAreTeachers may collect a share of sales from the links on this page. We only recommend items our team loves!)
1. Hewlett-Packard
Love HP computers? Then, you’ll be happy to know that you can score laptop discounts and free shipping. Educator perks apply to both K–12 educators as well as higher education professionals. Don’t forget to check out their weekly sales; you never know when a laptop may be featured!
2. Amazon Business for Educators
You could use Amazon Prime for educators to get free shipping on your laptop, but that’s not the only Amazon perk coming your way. Amazon Business for Educators allows you to make tax-exempt purchases as well as receive discounts. Not only does this apply to computers, but you can get discounts on everything you need for school, including books and classroom supplies.
3. Apple
Apple-lovers rejoice! At the time of this writing, Apple education allows educators to cash in on a generous $200 discount on the purchase of a new laptop. You’ll also get 20 percent off AppleCare. Apple Education pricing applies to teachers, faculty and staff members, homeschool parents, and college students and their parents.

4. Lenovo
Lenovo has a generous discount for educators: 10 percent off of a ThinkPad (think: laptop and tablet hybrid) and 5 percent off of an IdeaPad (traditional laptop). The good news doesn’t stop there. Lenovo extends the teacher discounts to teacher’s assistants, teacher’s aides, principals, speech pathologists, and more.
5. Dell
Public school teachers can cash in on Dell’s discounts by signing up for a membership for state and local government employees. Perks include five percent off of electronic purchases and a lower interest rate on credit purchases. However, any teacher (or anyone for that matter) can get a discount by signing up for Dell Advantage Rewards. You’ll get three percent off of any purchase.
6. Staples
If you already shop at Staples, use your rewards card to get five percent back! Keep an eye out because Staples offers Teacher Appreciation Days throughout the year!
7. Overstock
While the Overstock rewards are not necessarily just for laptops, you could still save money when you purchase your laptop. Club O is free for teachers to join, and you’ll get five percent back on your purchases, including laptop purchases.
