We may speak a few different languages (and teach a few different languages), but no matter how hard we try, we teachers will never be fully fluent in student slang.
Words that meant one thing yesterday can suddenly mean something totally different tomorrow. And words that weren’t even words last week are suddenly flying off every student’s tongue. By the time you define one list of terms, you’re already behind. But it doesn’t hurt to try.
